I’m more of a lime than lemon guy too. The colour is more interesting and there are no pesky seeds either.
This was an especially interesting review for me as I tasted that wine only last weekend. I loved it too, and I think you’re completely correct when you say that a NZSB fan would find much to like in this German Riesling. Both are intensely flavoured, are relatively acidic and, as you said, have a good tropical component too.
Incidentally, watch out for Carl Ehrhard’s *white* Pinot Noir from Karwig’s – another stunner.

thanks for the comment paul – limes are the business !!
I have the white pinot noir to taste as well but I was totally blown away by this wine – loved your review to. We are very close score wise.
Hope to see you saturday !

It really is a shockingly good wine isn’t it. You expect its gonna be good, but the quality is superb. As you mentioned I had the pleasure of meeting Carl when he came over to Cork recently, and his passion for his product was clear and of course well merited. I hope you get to try his Blanc de Pinot Noir, not just a curiousity, but another belter of a wine.

Thanks for the lovely review. Carl is a great wine-maker and we are proud to sell his whole range. He is the real deal. Smashing guy. Brilliant wine.
